Recently one of our Junior School students, Vinique, had an idea: how could she make children who are in the hospital smile?

She would give them a SMiLeS Camp t-shirt that she had designed - it made her fellow campers smile, so it should do the trick!

So Vinique presented Kristin Scarfone, Manager, Community Initiatives, Trillium Health Partners and Credit Valley Hospital Child Life Specialist, Martha McLeod with a SMiLeS Camp t-shirt (Vinique had the winning design this year), which they both happily put on right away. Vinique also added 50 SMiLeS Camp t-shirts to bags she personally decorated with happy face stickers, as well as copies of a handwritten note, and coloured markers to decorate the shirts, for children waiting for their cancer treatments.

But it didn't stop here - Vinique would like to do a drive closer to Valentine's Day to collect money for every time someone does something that makes a heart happy. Stay tuned for more from this sweet girl.
