She's a Poet!

SS2 student Maya V. recently submitted a war poem she wrote in English class to a Young Writers Poetry Contest run by the Poetry Institute of Canada and was informed, much to her delight, that her poem "Smoke" was selected from thousands of entries to be published in an anthology of verse entitled "Serenity".  WOW - remarkable! 

In a note to her teacher Mr. Martyn Smith, Maya wrote: "Thank you so much for the support, it is really inspiring and encouraging!"  Congratulations Maya - YOU are inspiring!
