The Jackson-Burian Family
“We know that SMLS' approach has been a gift to our daughter in her foundational years and we are so pleased that we chose SMLS.”
For Marguerite Jackson, supporting and empowering girls comes naturally. Marguerite challenged assumptions and crashed barriers in her professional career, and has an extensive background in supporting young people to reach their full potential. "Wherever young people are, I am interested in being part of creating environments where they will strive, thrive and have opportunities to be fully responsible and confident participants in their adult lives. The SMLS environment exemplifies this."
Marguerite is an active member of the SMLS community and was a member of the school’s Board of Governors for six years. Not only is she a committed volunteer, Marguerite and her husband Gary also support The Millie Fund. "Our charitable commitment is linked to a strong confidence in the SMLS leadership team, faculty and staff, and the Board of Governors, all of whom demonstrate a laser focus on delivering programs that position girls for the future. I am proud to support SMLS."
Marguerite's granddaughter, Claire Burian, graduated Class of 2021. Her daughter Sandra and her husband Tom - Claire's parents - are also committed supporters of SMLS and contribute annually to The Millie Fund. "We are delighted to financially support SMLS. In the years that Claire attended the school we watched her mature into a caring, thoughtful, confident young woman. We saw her strength and confidence grow each year. We know that SMLS' approach has been a gift to Claire in her foundational years and we are so pleased that we chose SMLS. Our deep appreciation to all the SMLS staff."
